Campbell Lake

General Information

Campbell Lake is a narrower lake approximately a mile and a half long, and fairly shallow which often makes for good fly fishing. The lake is surrounded mostly with typical grassland vegetation. The campsite area is nestled in a stand of fir on the southerly shore. The campsite facility is very well done up with a number of good sites.

You should expect to be charged a camping fee at this site. Fishing is usually good in the spring with fish averaging in the one and a half pound range. It can be quite busy in the spring and very busy on weekends.

Location & Access

Campbell Lake is accessed from the Barnhartvale Road which turns off approximately eight km east of Kamloops. Turn right at the Petro-Canada Gas Station. Stay on the main Barnhartvale Road continuing south. Watch for a turn-off on your right at Robbins Range Road. You will shortly be on gravel. Continue on and follow the Campbell Lake Road - watching very closely for the Sciutto Lake Forest Service Road sign as you will turn off there. Follow this road for quite some distance. You will come to Sciutto Lake which your skirt the northerly edge of and follow the small signs to Campbell Lake.
